7.22.09 @ Water Street

100.5 the Drive, with Freetime Magazine, welcomes Thriving Ivory to Water Street Music Hall on Wednesday, July 22nd. The band was chosen for Yahoo! Music: Who's Next? User's Choice competition, and also featured as a VH1 Artist You Oughta Know.

6.5.09 - Chris Trapper

6.5.09 - 8:00pm @ Water Street Music Hall

100.5 the Drive, along with Freetime Magazine and SUNY Brockport, welcomes Chris Trapper, with special guests Burning Daylight, to Water Street Music Hall on Friday, June 5th. As the principal songwriter and singer for nationally acclaimed alt-rock trio The Push Stars, Chris Trapper is equally sure-footed in his solo career.
When on hiatus from The Push Stars, Chris writes, records and tours in support of his solo CD's. His words and music can be best described as an interesting blend of 1950's pop, 1990's rock and old-timey jazz with the ever-present under story of Chris' distinctive baritenor. It is intricate power-pop with a compelling knack for telling everyday stories.

4.3.09 - Mason Proper

4.3.09 @ Water Street

Michigan's own Mason Proper has spent the last few years quietly and confidently rising to the top of the state's independent music scene, on the strength of their energetic (and often dangerous) live shows, and inventive experimental pop recordings. It all came to a head in 2008 with the release of the band's second album, Olly Oxen Free,
which arrived to critical acclaim for it's successful fusion of beautiful minor-key pop songs and gritty electronic flourishes. Real Detroit Weekly loved the latest evolution of the band's sound so much, they went so far as to declare "Mason Proper are not just one of the best bands in Michigan, they are one of the best bands making music today."
