Remember this picture? It went viral last week.  This 25-year-old cop in New York named Lawrence DePrimo, helped a 54-year-old homeless guy in Times Square named Jeffrey Hillman.  Jeffrey had bare feet in 36-degree weather, so Lawrence bought him a pair of $100 Skechers boots.

A tourist from Arizona saw the whole thing, took a photo, the NYPD put it on their Facebook page, and it got more than 600,000 likes.

Well . . . now it's time for the TWIST.  Jeffrey didn't find any of this as heartwarming as you did.  He says he's grateful to Lawrence and, quote, "wishes there were more people like him in the world" . . . but it's not all amazing.

First off, he says he's not wearing the boots.  He's STILL going shoeless.  Quote, "Those shoes are hidden.  They are worth a lot of money.  I could lose my life."

And second, he says he feels kind of EXPLOITED by the whole thing.  Quote, "I was put on YouTube, I was put on everything without permission.  What do I get?  This went around the world and I want a piece of the pie."
