The good news for the Royal Family is that KATE MIDDLETON is pregnant.  The bad news?  She's in the hospital with a very severe form of morning sickness called HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARUM.

It's marked by nausea and vomiting, but on a more extreme scale than regular morning sickness . . . to the point where it can lead to dehydration, malnutrition, weight loss and other problems.

It's estimated that at most, only 2% of pregnant women get it.  Some estimates say the number is as low as three-tenths of a percent.  For most women, the issue resolves itself by about the 20th week of pregnancy.

Kate will remain in the hospital for several days, after which she'll require, quote, "a period of rest."  There's potential for harm to the mother and child, but this doesn't seem to be one of those cases.  William was at the hospital yesterday.  Here's an uninteresting picture of him leaving.

An interesting side note, though:  Some experts say the condition is associated with TWINS.  There's no word if Kate is carrying what the Brits call "an heir and a spare" at the same time.  This is the first child for Kate and PRINCE WILLIAM.  The baby automatically leapfrogs Britain's International Naked Billiards champion PRINCE HARRY to become third in line for the throne.

That means Harry is now fourth, behind PRINCE CHARLES, Prince William and this unborn fetus.  Of course, if Kate IS carrying twins, that means Harry is FIFTH.  I'm pretty sure Harry doesn't mind.  I think he'd rather party than be King.  And by the way:  What if Kate IS carrying twins . . . and they're either both boys or both girls.  Which one gets first crack at the throne . . . the one that claws its way out of the birth canal first? Students use Facebook to spread random anonymous compliments

A Facebook profile dedicated to making students feel good about themselves has gone viral, spreading kindness to colleges across the U.S. and Canada. “Queens U Compliments,” the brainchild of four students attending Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, publishes anonymous compliments, and tags the objects of affection. “If there is something nice you have to say about someone but don’t feel comfortable saying it to their face, inbox away,” the profile says. “Keep in mind that hateful or rude remarks will be completely disregarded.”  [Mashable]

Bills Toronto 'home game' prices fall

With an agreement nearly in place to have the Buffalo Bills continue playing an annual home game in Toronto beyond this season, Rogers Communications executives are confident this north-of-the-border experiment can succeed. Just not at any ticket price. After having difficulty selling out the first six games — including two during the preseason — organizers have drastically reduced ticket prices. The average price for a ticket for Buffalo's "home" game against the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 16 in Toronto will be $99. That's down from about $160 in 2008, when the series began. The reduction comes at a time when the series is set to expire. The game against the Seahawks is the finale of the five-year deal reached between the Bills and Rogers, the Toronto-based communications company giant. [MyDriveFM.com]
