It's tempting to look at sick days as extra vacation days.  If you leave a voicemail for your boss and toss in a few fake coughs, you can TOTALLY get away with leaving for Vegas a day early.  But it's HIGHER RISK than you think.

In a new survey by CareerBuilder.com, 17% of employers say they've FIRED someone for faking a sick day.

And almost one-in-three bosses say they now check up on an employee if they're suspicious that their sick day is a fake.  29% have called the employee later in the day . . . and 18% have tried to get the person's coworkers to RAT THEM OUT.

But people still take fake sick days all the time.  30% of workers admit they've taken a fake sick day this year.
