In Facebook's first quarterly report to investors since they went public, they admitted the site is PACKED with fake profiles. About 83 MILLION Facebook profiles are fake . . . that's 8.7% of all the profiles on the site. Those fake profiles belong to everyone from spammers and people's pets, to businesses that didn't know how to set up fan pages. (The Guardian)
Rumor has it that Apple will announce the next generation iPhone and an iPad mini on September 12th. According to the same source, the phones will begin shipping out nine days later, but the dates for release of the new iPad mini is still unsure. Insiders suspect that the new iPhone will be pretty similar to the 4S, but with a slightly thinner and lighter screen. Apple has not addressed any of the crazy rumors yet, since it is apparently not their policy. [MSNBC]
