The Mayor Pete Kennedy
Weekdays 9am - 3pm
Born in Canandaigua NY, Pete Kennedy grew up the youngest of 5 Irish kids. His dad "Ham" was elected as Mayor of the city of Canandaigua and served 14 years while his youngest son Pete stole the title "Mayor". Ham earned the title and Pete pilfered it.
Pete helped a bunch of his buds at St. Marys School to found an actual radio station that played music over the PA system during lunch. Many of the nuns were less than impressed by the musical selections this young mob played over WSMR. Later, "Mayor" also served as captain of his beloved Canandaigua Academy football team the Braves.
After successfully graduating from SUNY Geneseo where he spent many hours "studying" humanity while DJing and bartending at the world famous Inn Between, he headed to the bright lights of the big city of Rochester NY where he's been rockin' Rochester radio waves for 25 years, now crankin' great tunes on 100.5 the Drive.
When not heckling callers and having fun with them on air, he's actively out working' the streets at various community and charitable events. Last year alone he was involved in over 120 events and has plans for many more in 2012.
Gun toting hunters are wandering our back roads as gun season officially shot off to it's start Monday. Found some pics of celebs like actress Jennifer Lawrence who hunt. You may be surprised by some of them...probably not the boys from "Duck Dynasty". Check the celebs HERE.
Uh oh. The hype for the upcoming season of American Idol has hit Twitter as a potentially awesome catfight has erupted. After Mariah Carey whined last week about her one year as a judge on Idol, new judge Harry Connick Jr. tweeted this response this weekend:
"Must've been hard to judge in hell :( Idol XIII: Welcome to heaven :)"
A couple of quick questions: will Mariah's hubby Nick Cannon rush to Twitter in her defense? And if Idol is heaven, does that make Ryan Seacrest the pope? ugh.......
Need evidence that drugs are for dumb people? We can look just to the north to Toronto with the antics of Mayor Rob Ford, who first denied but now has admitted to doing crack while "extremely inebriated" (a perfect time of the day). He keeps digging a bigger hole for himself on a daily basis by just opening his mouth. And those people in Toronto mocked us for our failed fast ferry? At least none of our city leaders have admitted to being fools-in-charge. Everyday that Mayor Ford remains in office is another day of humor for us and shame for our Canadian chums.
We have our own dumbies here in the wonderful USA. You're looking at one in this mugshot from the Geneva Police Dept. That's 29-year-old Orlando Copa-Alicea from that Ontario Co. city just down the Thruway. Orlando was out on bail while awaiting trial scheduled to start next week for his October 2011 arrest when the GPD accused him of selling cocaine, a felony in this country (not sure if Toronto's Mayor will be charged with a felony). The key part of that last sentence is that Orlando was free on bail awaiting trial NEXT WEEK. Well, he's no longer free after being stopped in Geneva the other night by the GPD who have now charged him with....you guessed it...the SAME offense of Criminal Sale of Cocaine, another felony! Mr. Copa-Alicea now sits in the Ontario Co. Jail this weekend where my friends like Terry Cecere, Chris Romano and Scott Carter keep a watchful eye on this less-than-intelligent fellow (allegedly).
Now, don't you feel good about yourself? Stay away from drugs and have a great weekend while awaiting the next episode of the Mayor Rob Ford Show to beamed down from TO......
