While noting that in America we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, three names stick out in today's news to me:  Duane Paquine, Lisa Footer and James Tavolino.  Here is what has happened to them this week....

.....37-year-old Duane Paquine of Bergin has been arrested by State Police and charged with harassment and criminal trespassing after a weekend incident when he allegedly shoved a 70-year-old man during a disagreement in Bergin.  After this manly act Mr. Paquine then is alleged to have stolen wires from the older gents vehicle.  Guess that will show the old man, huh?  I pity the fool.

.....44-year-old Lisa Footer has been a spanish teacher in Canandaigua for about 20 years.  Canandaigua Police accuse her of sexual conduct with a 16-year-old. I went to high school at Canandaigua Academy and paid attention in math class just enough to note that the alleged victim was not even born yet when this teacher began her career.  I also paid enough attention to note that there are many great teachers in the Canandaigua City School District and it is a travesty that they will now be subject to ridicule because of this alleged shameful act by one teacher.  No pity for those in a position of authority who abuse their privleges.

.....37-year-old James Travolino died at Strong Memorial Hospital Wednesday after trying to commit suicide at the Monroe Co. Jail Monday.  This man started a fire on Nov. 2nd at his ex-girlfriends home while her two children were inside.  Luckily the 13-year-old was smart enough to escape and save his 11-year-old sibling from the fire.  I have no pity for a man who tried to kill kids to spite their mother.  What a coward, as proven by his suicide.
