When it was announced, last September, that singers Shakira and Usher would pull up judging chairs to Season 4 of NBC's The Voice, the arrangement was supposed to be temporary, allowing time for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green to reignite their music careers. However, a new New York Post report suggests that it could be the new order.
Paul Telegdy, the network's head of alternative programming, told the newspaper that he hasn't decided who will be invited back for Season 5. He added: "Do we envision [Usher and Shakira] serving on multiple seasons? Absolutely." In other words, Green and Aguilera could be forced to fight for their jobs back.
In a statement released in September, Green promised: "I will return for Season 5 and will be watching Season 4." Likewise, Aguilera talked about being able "to come back and offer even more to my team on The Voice in the future."
The Post notes that Aguilera had been earning $225,000 per hour - triple that of her fellow judges - when the show premiered in April 2011. In addition, she has been embroiled in a nasty feud with fellow judge Adam Levine - who, along with Blake Shelton, is staying put for Season 4.
