What an exciting Labor Day for Rochester Red Wings fans, players and staff at Frontier Field! In the final game of the regular season, the Red Wings faced a must win situation. If they won their game and Norfolk lost their game being played on the same day, our baseball boys would qualify for the International League playoffs for the first time in 7 seasons. The Wings got off to a great start and took a big league while following the progress of Norfolk. As fate would play out, the Tides lost their game in 13 innings, while the Red Wings coasted to victory at Frontier in front of thousands of happy fans. It all happened on the birthday of Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason, one of the hardest working, nicest people you will ever meet. The Wings won, made the playoffs and said a resounding Happy Birthday to "Mase"! What a day for Rochester baseball. The Red Wings now host the opening 2 playoff games vs. Pawtucket on Wed. and Thurs. at Frontier Field. Get you tickets at www.RedWingsBaseball.com. Even though it feels and looks a bit like fall today, the "boys of summer" play on!
